Into doing technology events here in La More than a decade ago as I was building Some fintech startups and trying to grow My network and kind of no matter what I Try to do it just kept coming back and Like whenever I'd start something that I Really cared about that involved getting People together that would end up Growing so well that I couldn't let it Die so it ended up taking over much of My life so I guess it's it's almost a Default for me is if we can get awesome People together in person let's find a Way Um and then that's how I met Josh by Hosting some tech and startup meetups in Los Angeles and because of you know We've done projects along the years and Once you have driven ft podcast showed You know really what happens when you Get entrepreneurs of Josh Jeff and Ethan's caliber together doing something That might sound as silly as a nft Podcast Um there is just so much greatness That's already happened and even more Coming so it just made too much sense Not to try Josh You know I I I reflect on my crazy Entrepreneurial Journey Um you know since since childhood I've Always liked to bring people together And disrupt the status quo

Um back in the day you know I created an Event when I worked in Consulting and I Found myself more gravitated towards Creating that event than than my day job Right and then Um I created a food tech company with a Couple guys including Jeff called Territory Foods where we were delivering Meals to gyms but but sick of them in Refrigerators Um and co-creating with chefs so I just Like to bend the rules of what's Possible with good people and and create An environment for people to gather have Fun Um and create things that are bigger Than what I personally can create in the World it's just it's just how I'm wired And I think with that wiring comes Um you know this tendency to uh to do Things that that oftentimes feel Impossible even as you're doing them Um and I'm reminded that that uh it's Important to just take fear in the eye Look at it and just kind of keep going Anyways and and that's what keeps me Fired up every day And you touched on this a little at the Beginning but can you explain again the Outer edge of the the floor plan of your Conference because that's a big Differentiator where usually These companies buy booths and that's How you kind of pay for the conference

But you guys Gentlemen of the people uh Regular people can have a presence at This Festival their projects or whatever Um on the Outer Edge what is that Absolutely I mean it's it's in the name So you know it's actually important to Us Um we what we really want to be is for The community like we're part of the Community as well this isn't some giant Death Star Corporation that is that's Doing this only with the big companies That can write the Microsoft level Checks and then all the community has to Go off and do something separate we're Very we are a startup in the wet three Space we make Media Tech and events uh For this amazing movement Um and we we want to do it with everyone Here especially those people who are Either based here or often participate In Los Angeles but really this is also For everyone around the world so that is The point of the outer edge section and And activation uh it's really powered by What we're calling land grants which Means any Community powered project or Artist or really anyone who wants to can Apply for a land grant you know you get Space inside the convention you're not Buying some expensive sponsorship or Anything like that it's for you and your Community to come co-create something Awesome as long as you've got the the

Chops and the desire to put on some Really awesome activation or experience Or learning or really it's up to you Inside we want everyone to at least for A day or two come together Um that week because there's just so Much magic that happens when the when The community coalesces and we've got so Much space at the convention center that We want to share it absolutely and and If you're a community project and you Want to do something outside our venue Like more power to you do something with Us and then create a breadcrumb trail to Your experience your after party your Event on Thursday or Friday or Saturday So this is a pretty novel way of sort of Decentralizing an essential event in a Way that actually might work it's an Experiment we'll see what happens but We're gonna have a lot of fun figuring Out along the way and and getting Feedback so far the response has been Incredibly positive Um I got an email from an artist Yesterday that was thinking of doing his Own late night Rave and now he wants to Do something with us and and that's Really cool and that's what we're going For Um we just announced on Twitter spaces Yesterday a collaboration with the one And only crypto Jeweler so um once that Launches 500 VIPs and 500 gas will get a
